SOLO

My works for solo acoustic violin/hardanger d’amore are the result of integration of various aspects of my artistic interests and histories (folk music, western art music, extended technique, textural play). Straddling a line between composition and improvisation, each piece takes a long time to gestate. The composing becomes a process of sculpting, nurturing the ideas of resonating fragments until they find their form at the correct time. Works are in the aural tradition and not notated.
